Special Programs

Aside from the degree and certification programs, The School of Education also provides special programs for particular groups or to meet the specific needs of a section of the educational community.

Cohort Field-based Training

This program is designed to serve the special needs of a particular school system or of a particular group of educational professionals. These programs are field-based because much of the content of the courses is based on projects and research designed to meet the needs and challenges faced by the school districts. The Department of Educational Leadership is currently training a cohort of school administrators in the doctoral program using a research-based model of problem solving.

Preparation for Teacher Certification Tests

The School of Education has implemented workshops to help to prepare candidates for the GACE II teacher certification tests. The workshops are held each semester under the leadership of a faculty member. The activities include participating in mock tests using samples of GACE test items.
